GLT Korea developed the kiosk as a contact point that connects logistics center workers and the work system. This is a flow in which order and work information from the WMS is delivered to the site, workers check instructions, process picking, inspection, loading, etc., and then register the results.
What is confirmed in the 2022 development report
On November 29, 2022, Maeil Business Newspaper reported that GLT developed a kiosk-based logistics center worker workflow optimization system through the ‘2022 Core Industry Cloud Flagship Project’. The report at the time introduced the connection between cloud-based SaaS and logistics center sites.
| development area | What is confirmed in the data |
|---|---|
| Work system connection | Delivery of order and work information from WMS and registration of field work results |
| operator contact point | Select a task from the kiosk, confirm instructions and perform the task |
| field work | Composition of work flow such as picking, inspection, loading, etc. |
| Product introduction material | Example of indoor equipment, instruction printing/barcode processing, WMS/TMS linkage items |
Why was an on-site contact point needed?
Even if there is an order in the work system, if the actual worker relies on paper instructions and verbal communication, there is a process of changing instructions and re-entering processing results. This development focused on a structure that allows workers to confirm instructions and link results in the field.
The original introduction material shows the flow of order reception → work type selection → instruction confirmation/output → work result processing. Which tasks field equipment and mobiles will be deployed for should be designed on a center-by-center basis.
Development history and current introduction conditions are distinguished.
This article is a product development history and does not present construction/inspection performance or pre- and post-war productivity improvement figures for a specific customer company. Relieving the investment burden and improving efficiency as reported were the expected effects at the time. It does not represent actual savings, increased throughput or up-to-date certification status.
We do not assume that the cloud, mobile, task allocation, and authentication related items in the existing data will be basic features of all current introductions. Please confirm the provided version and scope of equipment, connection, and operation support during consultation.
