Original Korean source material. See the English explanation on this page.

Company H's case is a pick-up service in the metropolitan area where the picker visits homes and collects parcels at a collection point. The GLT introduction material explains the structure of integrating the fixed areas of Gangnam, Seocho, and Songpa, and replanning routes that have not yet been performed when new orders come in.

Customer challenges and scope of application

  • Review of overlapping movement of pick-up routes divided into fixed areas
  • Routing considering travel distance, operating time, maximum visit destination, and pickup operation time
  • Re-planning of existing unfulfilled routes and new orders
  • Business connection to route renewals to Picker Mobile

The total number of stops (STOPs) is 182. The table is a before-and-after comparison based on the same number of stops, and the total travel distance decreased by approximately 49% from 468.71km to 236.91km, and the total travel time decreased by approximately 32% from 35.43 hours to 23.97 hours. This is a comparison of distance and time values between ASIS and TOBE calculated through the TO engine. This is a comparison result for the relevant case and does not guarantee a savings rate at other sites.

Operation flow and required data

step
Usage Information and Processing
initial plan

change collection
Add/edit orders and collect existing routes that have not been visited yet
replan
Review route changes considering distance, capacity, operation time, and pick-up time
field execution
Send route change to mobile and guide to next pick-up location

Real-time operations require mobile linkage with order and vehicle status. This does not mean that the Transportation Optimization Engine alone automatically provides driver apps or location collection.
